stone chip/scuff repair service needed Basingstoke

Hi,

My car's bonnet was keyed yesterday by some yob. So I now need to find a stone chip/scuff repair service in Basingstoke. Can anyone recommend one? Hearing so many horror stories, I'm a bit nervous but I don't have the money to have it sprayed by a body shop.

Thanks!

Glen

If you can't have it resprayed the best you can hope to do is give it a good polish. If down to metal then a respary is really your only option.

If you lick your finger and run it over the scratch and it disappears (ie when damp) then polish should be enough.
  • Hi, thanks for your reply!

sadly it's super-deep, right through the silver paint and down to the black undercoat. I don't have the money to have the whole bonnet resprayed by a pro bodyshop, so I'm looking for a localised spray etc to fix at a much lower cost. Somewhere like "chipsaway" sounds good but I'd like to find a recommended one so that I get a relatively good job done.

    Thanks!

If the scratch is longer than three or four inches, they won't be able to do a very good job (unless it is on a curved edge, it may be possible), I'm afraid. It will mean repainting.

ETA: I really need to pay more attention to thread dates. :wall: :D
