Driving License Insurance

Options
I remember seeing in Max Power or a similar magazine, an advert for a type of driving license insurance, so, if I lose my license, I can claim back costs for using public transport, as if I didn't have my car/license I could not travel to work without a taxi, and I don't even want to know how much a 20 mile journy in rush hour would cost in a taxi

Does anyone know the company I mean? They say they will cover for all costs of transport if I lose my license

A google should find it but be careful....

In the 90s or so there was a company that offered drink driving insurance, covering the same thing other than was explicitly for people who were banned due to drink driving offences. The policy was however deemed to be unlawful and all cover voided as a contact cannot encourage criminal activity or allow people to benefit from it.

I did see last year the company that you are talking about but given that it is on exactly the same principle (they do not limit the cover only to medical grounds) and so are likely to go down the same route of being cancelled when they become high profile enough.

probably not the one you were looking for, but this company offers a similar sort of thing http://www.chauffeurplan.co.uk/
  • I definitely know what you're talking about.

The company/product in question is FlashGuard (offered by a company called St Christopher). The product is effectively insurance against the loss of your license because of motoring convictions.

They don't provide cover for disqualification as a result of drink, drugs or dangerous driving related offences.

Need to have held a license for a minimum of 2 years for both, I don't meet this criteria (if I did I doubt I would have enough points to need it!)

So, basically, you make sure you get flashed by speed cameras enough times to get your license taken away, and you are guaranteed a chauffeur to drive you to work every day?
