On benefits and changing bank details

I'm looking into changing banks, therefore, my bank details will change. Do I just write a letter to JSA & DLA stating my details have changed and what they are? Or am I given a form to fill in?

How do I find out the details for my local BDC? Not received anything from JSA about how much I'll be getting each week yet.

I would just write them a letter, and ring them up to confirm they have the new details personally as letters to the DWP seem to disapear into a black hole quite often.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

re local BDC, just ring up the benefits people, and ask them for the address of your local BDC, they should be able to tell you.

Hi Sh, when I changed banks (RBS to Clydesdale) I just sent a letter off to all the relevant depts notifying them of the change of details.

I did keep the RBS account opened for a month or two, after the Clydesdale account was up and running, just to make sure everything (including DDs, standing orders etc) was going through the new account ok, before I closed the old account down.

Didn't have any problems with my payments being received into the new account.

personally i`d wait until the JSA has been sorted before you confuse them,or as lou says keep the old account open for a few weeks as a precaution
