One other thing to consider is internet useage if you have an internet package that has a download limit then the xbox might have an effect on it as your able to download trailers, demos and other things when on live which might put you over your useage limit.

You can play an xbox for many hours a day and only download about 50mb of data.

Doubt it, I played my XB for one night and got my internet capped for going over my 1GB limit....

Since then I've alwasy used the unlimited download bundle.

As for the price you can get a 12 month from Microsoft for £31

We decided to buy the 12 months pre-paid provided in this link on Sunday.

For the time being he is allowed on it for one hour in the evening after school and extra time over the weekend.
