JSA advice after dismissal

Hi ! when would I be able to claim JSA after losing my job, I am getting paid two weeks notice so would I claim now or when my notice period finishes ? I am not working during the notice period. Thanks

Also depends on the reasons for leaving.
If you left the job voluntarily or got the sack after a diciplinary, you may be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks. You should still apply though as the sanction runs from your JSA application date.
Also, to further complicate issues if you have savings or a partner you may not get income based JSA, but if you have a full NI record you can get contributions based JSA regardless of partners/savings etc.
