Can someone confirm how the cash back of £5 works for those with the clarity rewards card.

If i spend £300 between now and the next bill i should get £5 but do they

1. just deduct that off the bill (ie does a £300 bill become £295 bill)
2. Add it up over the year like some do and you have to claim it back
3. Do they pay it into the rewards current account (as you are meant to have that to get the cash back)

the site states:
The cashback will be credited to your account the month after the statement period in which you spent £300.

but i am not sure exactly what they mean (apologises if i am having a dizzy moment lol! - but credited to credit card? current account? and if its credit card how do you get the benefit - ie you have to claim the cash back, or automatically comes of the bill etc)

Has any one qualified for it as yet? if so how did it work for you

It's credited onto your statement as a cash reward.

  • If your statement has £300 of expenditure, you get the £5 deducted from the following month's statement.

I've only had one statement so far, for £423, but on the "Recent Transactions" section of my online account there is a £5 credit which should be on my 2nd statement.

thanks all, well spent the £300 so will see what happens.

only thing wondering though is that i have a direct debit set for full payment, so if the first statement is for £400 for example and they take the direct debit of £400,

so if they credit the £5 after this to show on my second statement, that would mean that i would have a positive balance on the card of £5 if i dont use it the following month?

is that right, or have i read it wrong?

    Yes, that is correct.

But it's easy to get rid of the £5 balance ... just spend something small on the card.
  • Hi, a quick question. Say I've spent £300 on the card in the previous statement period, and at the current statement period, I received the £5 reward.

For this current statement period, do I just need to spend another £300 to qualify for next statement's £5, or do I need to spend £305 (because you're technically starting from -5 for the month)?

    Thanks!
