sofits, fascias and guttering

We live in a modest 2 bed end of terrace house and have been getting quotes for sofits, fascias and guttering.
A couple of quotes from local companies come in around the £1700 mark, which we feel is reasonable.

Yesterday we had a salesman from a large national company who quoted a staggering £8,800 to do the same work. As he said though they only fit the best. To be fair if we signed up before tuesday, the end of january, he would give us a 50% discount. Very tempting!!!

The quote included £210 to supply and fit a 3metre downpipe on our single storey extension. And £1400 for scaffolding, I am guessing from the name of the company this price would include a team of sherpas to set up base camp in our garden for the duration?

I had mine done last year too. The £1700 quote is nearer the mark than the other extortionate one discount or no discount.

Don't you just love companies who double their prices so they can offer a 50% discount?

I live in Medway Kent - 3 bed terraced, soffits (part, only the front) fascias (throughout) guttering (throughout, except 1 partial new one at front shared with neighbour)

£2312 BUT!!! this included patch refelting, cleaning some tiles, scaffolding, reflashing, erecting TV arial, can recommend the guys involved (unlike my previous roofer who left spur marks on my tiles from his boots ...)

oh and it also included a new part wall plate (c1.5 feet) that rotted

Thanks Spirit, £1700 sounded right to us with no gimmicks and discounts etc.
