Hi

I hope some people can shed some light on a insurance company called tiger car insurance ?

Its a bit weird how it started but I got phone out of the blue by quickfit last Tuesday evening who then put me through to this Tiger insurance, however I'm sure at first they said callconnect at first but never mind! (should i be worried?)

Anyway this company did help me get a couple of quotes on the phone but to be honest the quotes were about the same price so I gave up but I looked on the website www.tiger.co.uk which I saved about £50 so not to bad but I am kinda paranoid!

But before I buy from the website I would like to know who they are?

Are they safe to buy from? I haven't brought from the internet for insurance so im bit concerned if I can trust them

At a quick glance they're just (another) comparison site? So you're not buying from them .... just through them. Detail from their site :
Tiger.co.uk is a trading name of Call Connection Ltd. Registered office Saxon House, Ipswich, IP1 1TS. Registered in England and Wales 4834010.
Call Connection Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. FSA number 308374.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

Ah so thats why they answered the phone as call connection then, I thought they said callconnect lol

Are these comparison sites going to cause problems if I do buy from them?

No. But be careful not to put your telephone number in otherwise all the potential 'quoters' will start pestering you.

But if you're looking for Insurance .... click on the Insurance tab at the top right of the page and follow the recommendations for obtaining quotes? (as here :)

  • Ah thank you, I am looking around this site at the moment!

I hate insurance, its so boring!

One thing I did notice is that this tiger insurance had a cheaper quote then my own insurer, that I find strange!

I have a renewal of £689 from swinton but on this tiger.co.uk they quoted £637 but they wouldn't hold the price on tiger?

Made me wonder how this can happen

Tiger aka Call Conection are ok and a legitimate insurance intermediary, although as said earlier you might get a call from some of the companies quoted on their results page. They have religiously contacted me for the past 3 or 4 years on the anniversary of my insurance renewal. I have to say that they have not provided the cheapest quotes until this year when I am looking to add my daughter as a named driver. They will not arrange the insurance but will put you through to the relevant company if you are interested. If the price is right, don't be put off by the fact that you haven't heard of them. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice, sounds about the same as me then when I spoke on the phone as the quotes were about the same as I am paying but on the website https://www.tiger.co.uk it was 50 quid cheaper!

The thing that put me off at first was they answered as callconnection but towards the end of the call they seemed to transform into tiger insurance lol - ok I wasn't really focusing on the call after a minute or so!

I'm guess callconnection is the main company or something, are they allowed to operate like that then?

Sorry for the questions and thanks for your help everyone, it's just if somethings dodgy then I always get sucked in lol

Everything you need to know has pretty much been said on this thread already. If you're that worried about them, don't buy from or through them. They're regulated by the FSA so I imagine that yes, they are allowed to operate like that. I don't quite understand your problem.

Just make sure you check the cover and benefits.

The insurance industry is very incestuous and nepotistic. Apology accepted.
