I have managed to get superglue on the paintwork of my car (short but stupid story). This happened last night, but I didn't notice until this morning.
Anyone got any ideas for removing it? I don't want to risk damaging the paint (metallic and lacquer) by attacking it with the first solvent I come across, so any experiences and results appreciated.

Found the following although it is an American product that is mentioned. Maybe, you could contact the company via email and ask if there is a product available by them in this country.

I heard somewhere that WD40 or a similar silicon lubricant helps. Spray on then gently try to scrape superglue off using thumbnail or a plastic scraper.0

You can mask around the area with tape and then lightly sand it down until its close to the paintwork then try using white spirit or some T-cut to remove the last of it. I've got a feeling nail varnish remover might work but I'd check that out first before trying it.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Yeah...want to try the non abrasive options first.
Tried a 'Magic Eraser' last night, and it did seem to get rid of some of the spread around the main run, so it could be worth perservering with it. It's not the Mr Clean brand though, it's a JML one.
If it's not getting anywhere fast, I'll just have to try some solvents.0 -
Nail varnish remover should be quite safe, but test an inconspicuous area first e.g.- under the bonnet/bootlid. If you can afford it there are scratch repair specialists - look in yellow pages, windscreen repairers offer this service as well.0

You need a debonder, something like this http://www.rcplanet.com/1_oz_z7_debonder_65355_prd1.htm
Only costs a few pounds online or any decent craft/hobby model shop0 -

Cheers Delboy. Came across similar over the weekend, even Maplins sell it. Turns out that it contains Acetone though, which is nail varnish remover. OH ran out end of last week though, so I've dispatched her to the shop to stock up
Just to rule a few things out, here's what hasn't worked so far:
Cellulose Thinners (that surprised me)
Methylated Spirits
Petrol0
