Hi everyone this is the first time I have posted on this board, and I'm hoping someone can help. My pc has slowed down somewhat and I've tried all the normal ways to bring it back up to speed (defrag etc).
I have now decided that I want to format my hard drive. This in itself is not a problem, however I'm now trying to find a piece of software that will easily save all my outlook settings, mail, attachments etc, so that when I re-install XP I can simply insert the dvd/cd with all the saved outlook information and it will put it all back in the right folders etc not losing any data at all.
Can anyone recommend software that is not too technical that will easily do this for me. Freeware/shareware would be favourable however if this is not available I'm quite willing to pay for it.
Regards

Hi, This program is a free trial and will back up your emails http://www.outlook-express-backup.com/ . Your favourites can be saved to a folder, click on Start > run > Favorites. a folder will open, copy the contents to i.e. desired location , reverse process after format. You can backup Outlook folders using the import/export options within outlook. They export as .pst files which can then be imported back after reinstalling.0

I find just moving the store folder to your back up folder easy enough
Just go to Outlook Express - tools - options - Maintenance - Store folder .
Then move it to a folder you want to keep.
This keeps all emails how they are displayed at current state , then you just have to export your contacts and accounts...(which many people forget about)
Also dont forget to backup your Bookmarks i always forget to do thatIf it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

Have you checked for spyware etc etc as this can slow your computer down. Also if you have lots of programs running in the background this also can cause problems. If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.0
