Travel insurance for non-uk residents

Does anyone know a good (aka cheap) travel insurance provider for non-uk residents?
My gf is Trinidadian (Caribbean) and will be visiting me in the UK for about a month over Christmas (including a week skiing trip to France). France insists on medical insurance but most insurance websites seem geared to UK residents, e.g. demand 6months residence. She's 22 and has no medical quirks that I know about.
Anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? At the moment I'm googling for it but if someone can lend their experience or advice it'd probably help a lot.
