Balance Transder question.....

Options
My balance transfer has finally appeared on my Barclaycard from my Virgin credit card.

However, the amount it still showing on my Virgin account - is this right? How long will it take to "disappear" from my Virgin card?

Also, payment was due on Virgin during the transfer period and I paid the mininum amount which was £25, so that has shown as being paid on my Virgin account, but the amount before this payment is showing on my Barclaycard.

Could someone please expain what happens here? Will I get my £25 back or have I just "lost" it, so to speak?

Hope this all makes sense!

Thanks!

Shouldn't take more than a few working days, but these systems do not work in real time. Often they are updated overnight and usually about a day or two after the event.

You won't have lost the £25 and you were absolutely right to pay it as you wouldn't want a late payment on your credit record.
If you go £25 into credit then you have two options.
Ask for payment back (by cheque or BCAS transfer) or spend on the card.
It might take a few days or a few weeks to get a refund sorted so I would suggest the easiest way would be to use you card to buy some food or petrol.
  • Hi the same thing happened to me i transfered from virgin to barclaycard the balance showed straight away on barclaycard but took about a week to show on virgin. I too had a payment made to virgin so i ended up in credit so i just bought stuff i needed to the amount i was in credit and it balanced itself out.:)

Thanks very much to you both, that is really good to know! What a relief. Fingers crossed that's how it'll go with me too. :)

Thanks to all who advised, I am now £25 in credit on my Virgin card which will be used for petrol. :)
