Hi
There is a threat of redundancy in our company, we will find out next week who will lose there job!!
I have never claimed before and have no idea what I will be entitled
to.
I have no children, live with my partner in his house, so will I receive any benefits.
many thanks
sam

You may receive contributions based JSA if you've paid NI in the relevant tax years.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
then you should get contributions based JSA for 6 months. hopefully you'll find another job in that time.
good luck!0 -
You'd receive £65.45 per week if you're over 25. This raises a bit in April.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

You will qualify for Contributory based JSA - for 6 months.
Your claim will start from the date that you call up to register it, and best to do that on the day after you have been let go buy your company.
The application will take 30-45 mins over the phone (DONT DO IT ON THE NET IT WILL GET LOST!)
And you will need your National insurance number, last 3 payslips and details of your savings

for contributions based JSA your savings are irrelevant, as you are eligable based on your NI contributions.
savings only affect income based JSA.0 -
I've never had any problems applying online.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Me either. It's handy for claiming when no ones working. My last day of work was Christmas day, so on Boxing day I claimed online. Got a phone call a day or 2 later, went in JC sorted it, done. Easy.
And as above you can have millions saved and still claim contributions based JSA for 6 months! For income based above £6,000 (?) it starts to affect, and £16,000 is the upper limit for receiving no JSA. But that's only on income based.0
