Problems with new car..

Afternoon all,
I part exchanged my car Monday evening for a 54 plate astra.
All seemed well & didn't have any problems that night or Tuesday.
On Wednesday I noticed the heating wasnt working & the temperature light would come on randomly. Yesterday it happened again & still no heating, on way home smoke came out the bonnet so I put some water in the car as it was bone dry which I thought was odd.
I took it to the dealer this morning & he checked the water which was empty. As he poured water in it would leak out of a hole by the engine as quick as it was going in.
He said he will have to keep the car as unsafe to drive & a mechanic would look at it Monday.
He offered me an old M reg rover 214 which had clutch problems for the week whilst they look at my car, I tried to manoeuvre it but had real difficulty driving it so said I would leave it as he had nothing else. He gave us a lift home.
Afew questions..
- my astra has 3 month warranty with them, will it be covered if it's a severe problem they diagnose?
- are they liable to provide a courtesy car?
Looking for some advise as not been in this situation before & I'm gutted after saving to get the car I've wanted! They bought my old car for 1200 & sold it for £2200 which I know can't be helped!
Sorry if this isn't clear, I'm doing this on my phone & I'm not very clues up on cars!
Thanks in advance,

The warranty is irrelevant as it does not replace your statutory rights. You have 6 months protection under the SOGA from the date of purchase to cover defects other than fair wear and tear. You are within reasonable time to reject the car for a full redfund if they cannot rectify to a satisfactory quality. As for a courtesy car; if you car is going to off the road for a signiftant period of time (in excess of say 2 days,) there is nothing stopping you from hiring a car and reclaim the costs of doing so from the seller however, you should always mitigate your costs. If the seller provides a courtesy car, it must be road worthy and legal. You would have to inform the seller that you may need to hire a car unless he can provide you with one which works. Check with trading standards if you need this confirming.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Sounds like a cracked hose and therefore a simple fix...... If not it can only be the thermostat (which will have to be resealed) or the water pump (which means a full cambelt removal).
Personally if the cambelt has been done on schedule then I would say it's going to be very a simple fix and you should be driving about in your new car very very soon.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I will update once they call me tomorrow - missing my new car very much ha ha.0
