I have installed a new hard drive with windows xp, but windows starts then goes to a black screen with the message cannot display video mode for a few seconds then reboots again, help please

are you using a graphics card ??

or is it on board graphics ??

try removing the graphics card and booting up with the on board

I tried this but no luck still the same, any other ideas thanks

Try booting into safe mode and changing the graphics settings. Right click the desktop , properties and settings. Could be set too high 1024 x 768 should do you for now
