I have installed a new hard drive with windows xp, but windows starts then goes to a black screen with the message cannot display video mode for a few seconds then reboots again, help please

are you using a graphics card ??
or is it on board graphics ??
try removing the graphics card and booting up with the on boardEx forum ambassador

Try booting into safe mode and changing the graphics settings. Right click the desktop , properties and settings. Could be set too high 1024 x 768 should do you for now
I have nothing better to do!!!!
