Hello,
I am looking for advise on what to do about my situation,
I work 18 hrs a week and have 3 children (10,14, 18), so recieve wftc and ctc.
we live in a rented terrace house.
the thing is, my husband is clinically depressed and agrophobic, he hasn't left the house/garden for 2 yrs apart from occational doctors appointments,
is he classed as disabled ? should i be claiming anything ?

If he has care or motobility needs then yes he can claim DLA.0

he also needs to get treatment. it isnt fair for him to sit back and let you try to make ends meet.0

Is he getting treatment? Not connected to claiming benefits but he really ought to be getting help with getting out of the house, back to leading a normal life.
If he's unable to work he can claim Employment Support Allowance.

If he has care/mobility needs then he can claim Disability Living Allowance

If he receives Middle or High Rate Care DLA and you care for him for 35hrs or more a week then you'll be entitled to claim Carer's Allowance

Thanks for the replies,
I'm trying to work out which I should be applying for, as none of those links seem to mention depression as a qualifiying reason,
I shall carry on checking them out so thanks again
As for treatment he has been on a double dose of fluoxetine since november0 -
The DLA isn't concerned with actual diagnosis, but the level of care involved in looking after someone with disability whether physical/psychological.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000
