Card for using in USA

Hi I was wondering if anyone could advise me on what type of card to take/use when on holiday in USA.
I would like to get a card that I could put some of my savings onto before I go in July. Or would it be better to get a credit card and have the money ready to pay it when I get back?
Many thanks in advance.

In general I think you will find a credit card has lower costs, but you'd have to pay that back when you arrive home.
I personally have Halifax Clarity which is a very low interest rate and no other charges.
