  • I may be exaggerating my poor star feedback a bit but just a bit worried about the ones that I sent on Wednesday.
Tracking number for one of them is AH481216425GB now normally when I check them I only get info on the Signature but this one seems to be showing it in the system???
I did not put the labels the guy behind the counter did but they all show where they were sent from I don't think this is normally the case with standard recorded is it?
Two have been delivered fine just waiting on the other Two.

    I get it now, sorry!

That is the usual message that many of us get when we use recorded, it shows as accepted and then never updates further. It does not mean it hasn't arrived it just means it hasn't been updated online.

Assuming it does arrive (and unless you hear contrary from the buyer I would assume it has/will) if you put in a claim to RM you'll get your 74p back due to lack of signature. Everything i use recorded for is like that online, that's why I don't use it for ebay.

As for stars as long as you keep your headline ones above 4.8 and your expanded selller dashboard clear of low individual stars, you will be fine.

Another disadvantage of sending recorded is if the buyer works all day and not in to sign for a package that could have been put through the letterbox. If they then have to collect from the sorting office it adds inconvenience as they might have been looking for sellers who don't use recorded/signed for services.

The problem wtih Recorded Delivery is, it's just that, a signature on arrival. It's not a tracked item so the system only gets updated when a delivery attempt has been made and
    a) the postman remembers to hand his delivery card back in to the office...
    b) gets a signature for it in the first place
    c) The office in RM aren't getting bogged down with extra work.

Unfortunately delivery cards seem to be the last thing to get updated in RM. I've even seen myself scanning cards that have been through washing machines and/or a couple of weeks late
