paying off credit card! settlement figure?

i got myself into debt , got onto a debt management thing , found out that wasnt for me so got out of it and now paid off everything except a credit card 2,500 whats thebest way to pay it off ? someone mentioned asking for a settlement figure would this be best for me and how does this work>?thanks

Pay a monthly payment greater than minimum but what you can afford.

When you say settlement figure I'm guessing you would like to pay it off? If you ring them up they will give you balance and an estimate of interest due to be taken the month after, I would pay over this figure just in case of a miscalculation, any credits remaining can be transferred to your current account which takes 2 hours or up to 3 working days.

hi yes im looking to pay it off and been told if i ask for the settlement figure my current balance is not what i pay it will be less??is that right?

depends on what stage your account is, if defaulted you can offer a lower amount but they dont have to accept.
