Tesco - Advice on DVD-R i bought?

Was wondering if someone could help me. The missus bought 60 packs of the 4pack DVD-R inTesco a few weeks back. Now i have opened 2 packs and out of the first pack i had 1 coaster (it just stopped burning have way through) but on my second pack i had 3 out of 4 disks.

Now i've hunted for my receipt and cannot find it anywhere. But these have TESCO all over them and on the disks so they can only come from there.

Can i take these back for a full refund as there is no way i'm burning anymore of them.

Gonna phone Head Office first thing see what they say, but anyone offer any advice?

Weren't these part of the £1 megadeal thing? I was tempted to get some of them but glad I didn't bother now as they sound like a pile of cheap Tesco tat.

Yes, if they're branded with the Tesco logo you don't need a receipt, and you're entitled to a full refund. Just say you've tried a few and they're faulty, so logic suggests that more of the batch are also faulty and you don't want to take that risk.

Great thanks, yeah it's those £1 for 4 dvds. The missus does not know alot of dvds and which dye is good. But they are awful.

Actually, I have loads of those DVDs myself and only four didn't work which in fact was my burner (wish I had checked it after disc 1 failed but I just assumed the cheap disc was faulty).

However, I bought them ages ago when there was five to a pack so this lot may well be a totally different production run and with that level of failure, if you are sure it is not the software or burner at fault, take them back and I am sure you won't have a problem, even without the receipt.
  • We used to but the Tesco ones, both the normal ones and the pound pack but so many of them failed we stopped - have to agree the quality is rubbish, and although they are cheap by the time you get past the dud ones only one ar 2 were ever useable. So thats a quid per dvd-r roughly
Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention :p
  • OH bought some of these for his dad, because they had just purchased a DVD recorder to record TV (their VCR broke) - and he's having the same problem..

Well went into the store and point blank refused a refund said i could exchange them for another make they had loads of 'Tesco' brands there and only one known brand 'maxwell' but these were very expensive at 25 for £13. He did say i could buy anything from hardware but needed to buy it today.

I just rang head office and they have said i need proof of purchase (cc statment etc) but i'm sure she paid cash for them.

    Any ideas now?

Ok been thinking about this. If they offered me an exchange of the dvds and i said yes. I would then get a reciept? Will it show the refund of that, as i could just take that to another store then?

I would of thought that if they give you a receipt then it would show a refund - but they may not give you a receipt as there wasnt one in the first place?

Why would you want to then take it to another store - wouldnt that be dishonest?
