My rescue cats have grown loads in the first week - normal?

I rehomed two 7-8 month girls last Friday and have been feeding them a pouch between them morning and night and dry down all day. They are not overeating IMHO but they have grown loads and loads in 8 days. They were in the RSPCA from 10 weeks old. Just interested to find out whether it is normal for rapid growth following rehoming due to the increase in excercise (now have whole of downstairs to gallop around in! :rotfl:)

Maybe you can find out their weight when they left the RSPCA and weigh them now to check? We got our 3 from cats protection and although they are much healthier (some may say plumper
) now, I didn't really notice that much difference after a week x 0 -
Don't worry, just be happy they're thriving. Sound like lucky kitties to me.

They didn't get weighed on leaving but they are definitely happy kitties now with very distinct personalities!! Thanks! There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

Well done & great karma for taking on two furbabes! My Daisy has put on a few pounds herself since she moved in...A very content !!!!!cat!0

They don't get more than a few feet to wander round in RSPCA concrete pens. They're going to build up muscle and be hungrier as a result. You're probably buying them nicer food and they are more relaxed out of the prison environment, too.
I'd expect them to eat more or less like you've never fed them before, for quite a while yet!0 -
I have to say they are very very happy with their food at the moment. thanks all! There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0
