Help Needed

Looking for some advice not for myself but for my mate Tickemouse who you may know on the site .

Anyway as she cant get on her puter at all I will type and post this on her behalf if thats ok by you.

Despite the fact i know you all hate aol i am with them and tonight tried to install the wireless router with the aol disc. As part of the upgrade i uninstalled the previous driver as recommended.

Since ive done all this the pc now wont reboot. it used to get as far as the desktop then only started going as far as the grey screen at the beginning to give the choice of the F2 bios set up which it wouldnt do anyway but will now not recognise anything and the screeen wont even come on.

HELP!!

Would this be a case of best take to a puter shop or is there hope i have some lovely photos on there i really dont want to lose

Does safe mode work? F8 at bootup?

Your photos are probably safe, but it might take some tinkering to get it running.

In future, Norton Ghost the drive, then you'll have a backup..

Hi,

Thanks for that. I'm accessing MSE via my lappy as the PC won't even boot up at all now. I've decided that paying a PC repair man is the best and safest way to go - he should be here this afternoon.
