How will joining AVON effect my JSA??

I am signing up for Avon on Monday and I know that I have to inform the DWP im self-employed but what do I tell the Job Centre as I am claiming JSA???
I am not exactly going to be minted so am slightly concerned that they will take all of my JSA off of me for me to only make a small amount per campaign in the first few months.
I also heard that you do not have to declare the first £5 you earn to the Job Centre is this correct?
Also just want to make it clear that I DO want to do this properly and by the book. The last thing I need is to get done for benefit fraud!

You can't make a living selling Avon.~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0

You will need to inform the JC that you are working for Avon on a self employed basis and declare the hours you work each time you sign on. This will include time canvassing customers, delivering brochures, taking orders etc. If your hours are less than 16 per week JCP will ask for full details of all income and expenditure of your business eg amount of sales and associated costs such as price of brochures, bags etc and work out the amount of profit which will be taken into account when working out your entitlement to JSA. As stated in previous posts the first £5 per week will be ignored but the rest will be deducted from your JSA entitlement. Make sure you keep proper records as you will be asked to provide written verification of income and expenditure!
Good luck in your job and hope it leads on to further employment for you.0
