Have a look at this and if see if you can spot the catch, there has to be one.
If this seller can make so much from buying high street products at v.cheap prices, why does he bother to sell his own info for just £1.99?

One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

The auction is a load of tosh.
The seller is selling a list of DVD wholesalers. Yes they are companies where you can buy DVDs for £2, whether the company will deal with you is another matter.
You will never make a massive profit selling DVDs. Everyone is doing it. Like you said, if he is selling the info then obviously he is not making enough money selling the DVDs, hence he is looking at other income streams.0
