usb hub broken on laptop , help !!!!

my one and only usb hub is broken does anybody know how much it will be to get fixed ???? i need it for my wireless card thingy ??? any info much appreciated

need more info, make etc....if it has a pcmcia slot and the usb connector proves too expensive to fix....you could always buy a pcmcia usb adaptor and that can add another 4 usb ports.....unfortunately if you are unlucky and it isnt a simple software fault stopping the USB for functioning....it can be tricky/expensive to start to repair/resolder these things on the mobo....think you should hope for a software problem (unless someone or something has broken the socket physucally and you know for a fact)....or go down the pcmcia card route....good luckI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

well its deffo broke as i can see all the prongs sticking out inside , think one of the kids have been messing with it , as they do !!!!!! , so "how expensive " do u think it will be ??? and whats a "mobo" ha ha ha

sorry....the motherboard inside....anything broken thats attached to it involves opening up the laptop....not recommended unless you know what you are doing.....best idea....get a quote over the phone from where you bought it...second....compare that with the cost of a pcmcia usb card typically about a tenner (£10) http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=IO-PCMUSBFIRE&af=50I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
