Anyone who's Kindle is linked to the US Amazon site, this same collection is available there for $2.99. Not really a difference in price, but if you're linked to one site you can't order from the other.

Hey, I wonder if any of you lovely people can help me..

I've bought my wife a Kindle for her Birthday which is tomorrow. I really want to get her this as she loves the Jane Austen books (the well known ones anyway) but obviously I don't want her to know about it, or get any clue about what her gift might be.

Is there anyway I can buy this from my account for her to transfer to her Kindle tomorrow in a way that she won't know about it?
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

Any hints and tips etc gratefully received, lol. Need to get a cover for it now. Was looking at neoprene sleeve. Any reccomendations for that and light? Thanks
  • Austen's works are, of course, out of copyright and a lot of them can be downloaded free of charge from Project Gutenberg.

Also free - Dickens, Wells, Twain, Poe, Shakespeare and many, many more...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

The kindle's probably registered to yyour account at the moment if you bought it. Check by looking in the settings. (if you want more info how to do this, PM me) You can download the Austen (and any of the other free books that Amazon have all the time) in seconds. You can deregister it and set it up in your wife's name when she gets it. Hope she enjoys it - I love mine :)
  • Actually the best way is for your to "gift" a book to the person. They will get an email, and then they will be able to get it delivered directly to their kindle device. You do need to make sure that it is registered in her name and her account.
  • Thank you!
  • You're welcome :)

I bought a £5.99 neoprene cover on Amazon for my kindle, certainly does the trick.

    I love my kindle.
