On September 19th I was caught speeding, I produced my license down the police station as requested, and the copper filled in the form, I then called Bailey House and paid the £60 fine.

Today I recieve a letter
With Reference to the above numbered Fixed Penalty notice, the CTO has asked me to refund your payment as you have not complied with the requirements of producing your driving license within the statuory period.

This matter will not be dealt with by way of a court hearing, and any queries you have regarding this should be address to CTO.....

Your £60 payment has been refunded back to your credit/debit card

I produced my license down the police station, I never sent it to DVLA because I was never asked to, do you think its because I never sent it to DVLA, or do they think I didn't take it down the police station?

Is your quote accurate? It says the matter will "not" be dealt with by a court?

I don't understand what the issue is?

You shouldn't have to send it to the dvla, write back telling them that you produced it at the station, give the date/time and station details plus the name of the copper if you know it, probably lost the paperwork! Did you get a receipt or anything?

If you really attended your local Plod house then they'll have a record of it.

  • When you sent your £60 fixed penalty charge to the ticket office you should have sent your licence to be endorsed with 3 penalty points.

You did not comply with the requirements of the fixed penalty notice so have rejected their offer of fixed penalty. If you really don't want to go to court ring the ticket office and ask if you can resubmit your fixed penalty with licence to avoid court.

If you already have a court summons then you will have already incurred the £35 filing charges.
