I'm considering having a go
I have a good carpet cleaner - ish
but those grubby stains where people always make marks from sitting in the same place wont go...
so
has anybody tried steaming it with a wallpaper stripper
( please DONT suggest i go and buy the right attachments - NOT going to happen)
i was just wondering best way to emulate those wierd pieces of carpet steamer equipment I see on QVC and similar.....without actually splashing the cash....

hmm i don't see why it wouldn't work, altho all those fancy steam mops for floors have attactments to lift them off the floor abit, so maybe stick something to it to raise it off the floor? i invested in a 2nd hand vax when i was potty training so i just use itDEC GC £463.67/£450

Just make sure your carpet won't shrink first .........and you still mayneed detergent to clean the stain, it depends on what the stain is.
Its worth bearing in mind, carpet steam cleaners pressurise the steam,to use it to 'blast' the dirt away, whereas wallpaper steamers don't have the pressure to do so.˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ
