Was due to be paid jsa yesterday but as its the first payment thought would leave it till today to ring them .
Rang them first thing and lady on the phone said that would be in bank between 12:30 and 5:30 today.
still not there...Rang them back and man on the phone said we have to give it untill 5:30pm before ringing back.
at 5:30pm there is nothing they can do untill monday surely??

These same day account transactions are called FEP or IFEP payments. The call handler was correct, they should be credited to your account by close of business (and they generally mean by 5pm that day), although it normally should go through within an hour or two of the payment being OK'd at DWP's end.
There might be a problem at your bank's end ? There are occasional hiccups with such transactions at the bank side of things. If it doesn't go in tonight, I'll be honest, I think you've had it until Monday comes when you'll need to contact your Benefit Delivery Centre to find out what's happened.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -
We are now told to allow 24 hours for FEPS to go through.0

I thought the whole point of FEP's was that they were same day transactions & considerably reduced the demand for counter payments by giro at already overstretched local Job Centres.
If it's going to take 24 hours, they must as well just post a giro first class.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -
I believe FEP payments should be credited within 3 hours of DWP authorising them0

Just checked bank again and still not in.
Can a post office account accept same day payments ??
Husband gave them bank details but when we recieved letter saying we was entitled to benefit says would be paid into post office account .
When he rang up yesterday they said it would be paid into his bank and so he asked halifax and lady on the phone said yes.
Will check the post office when it opens just in case....0 -
Yes, they can make these payments into PO accounts. Hope you get on ok.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0
