Hello

Having looked on Uswitch yesterday I was getting Eon online 5 saver as the cheapest.

Ive looked today and entered the same stats etc and suddenly scottish power online energy saver 12 has appeared the cheapest.

Anyway prior to todays look on Uswitch I phoned scottish power to see what they could offer me. The offer was not as good (the rates) as what Uswitch has shown up.

1) I thought I would of got a better offer direct over the phone or at least identical.? Especially as im a customer of over 3 years..

2) Because Im with scottish power does that mean I cant go through Uswitch to get the better offer?

Thanks for any answers.

You get exactly the same tariff going through a referral site (e.g. comparison site) as you would get going direct.

I'm not sure why uSwitch didn't originally show you the SP tariff. Perhaps the uSwitch site suffered a temporary blip, or perhaps you didn't select all the possible options the first time?
uSwitch is one site that confusingly asks whether you only want to see the options that it can switch you to.

Unfortunately, there appears another issue discussed elsewhere with SP Online energy saver 12 in that it doesn't show up on the SP website under certain conditions, and being an existing customer is one of them. Perhaps when you call SP, they use the same system, which would explain why the CS adviser didn't tell you about the tariff. However, you should be able to get it if you call SP and ask specifically for that tariff. :)
