credit fraud

Options
Hi, hope that somebody can help us as we have been recieving letters and statements in someone elses name but our address, the first from Santander in December so i phoned them up to explain that this person did not live here and they told me to send the statement back with a note to say so.
I did this but then recieved another statement in January, phoned them up again and they told me to do the same thing as i don't think she understood me at one point she thought i wanted to change the name on the account grrrrrrrrr!
Now today we have recieved a letter from Lowell Porfolio about an Egg card about debts for £7546:eek: in the same name as the Santander account. So my OH phoned them and they said to disregard the letter and they put a note on their system,he also phoned Santander to explain about the letter from Lowell and that he thought somebody was obtaining credit with our address and they also put a note on their system. Now getting really worried especially with the Lowell letter as that was a threatening letter about recovery specialists(bailiffs i think). Now the question is what do we do now ?

There's nothing you can do other than to inform the companies involved and return all mail to them marked "Not known at this address".

None of them have a right of claim to your property or right of entry therein. Nothing bad can happen other than the inconvenience of having to return the mail to sender and keep reminding the companies that the recipient doesn't, and hasn't lived there.

It won't have an impact on your ability to obtain credit.
