Updating of credit reports

How long does it take for a credit report to update? I have made payments throughout Jan to one of my higher credit cards and out of curiosity went to check my credit report today and it still shows as it did 2 weeks ago.

Not serious as a long way to go but just wondered how often they update?

thanks

Generally lenders update once a month, it can take up to 5weeks usually depending on the dates you pay and the date they report.

  • Nothing updated on my Experian since December. Wouldn't worry, it can be 5 weeks sometimes.

Also, with Equifax, if you don't click on 'order now' for the latest credit report it keeps showing your last bought report as a snapshot (if you are a monthly payer you still need to click 'order now' and it will be free). I noticed this the other day as it says it in smallish text at the top of the main user screen after you've logged in.

Experian on the other hand automatically gives you the latest report when you log in and click 'credit report' - whereas the Equifax one doesn't.

That could also explain why things don't appear to have changed.

Some creditors are far behind, I notice my ZOPA loan hasn't been updated in nearly two months and the HSBC Current Account although updated this month, was actually updated to reflect December.

Just a waiting game unfortunately, 'bout 4-8 weeks :o
