in Credit cards
Hi,
I've never really used credit facilities much in the past and it turns out that last year my old Egg Card was actually cancelled due to lack of use! Now it looks like that might change, and I could need one pretty shortly. So, any suggestions on the best one to go for?
It needs to be widely accepted (nothing obscure) and secure, and preferably simple to administer online. I wouldn't need a particularly huge credit limit (sub £10,000).
Any suggestions?
I'm mainly looking for a good basic credit card, but any incentives would be a bonus!

Credit card from your current account bank, Barclaycard initial, Capital One, Aqua/Vanquis
I'm assuming you don't have much of a credit history at the moment (as your Egg Card would show as Dormant/Cancelled), as such you are stuck with looking for cards that will build a credit history rather than best offers.
And due to lack of credit history you are unlikely to get a very high credit limit.0 -
Sounds like it might have to be a Barclaycard.
I'd say I've got a pretty good financial record - never overdrawn, plenty of money in the account relative to my outgoings etc. - but my actual credit history is probably close to non existent. The only reason I even bothered with a credit card was to keep my work expenses separate to my personal banking when I travelled a lot for my old job. I've never taken out a mortgage or bought a car on credit or anything...
So I presume there aren't any credit cards offering a zillion pounds in cash and a free holiday if you sign up now or anything?0
