Mornin' folks,

My other half phoned up my local Ford garage to put my 4 year old Focus in in for a service (around 75k on the clock).

Anyway the guy in the service dept. asked if we wanted the Arnold Clark service @ £75 ot the Ford service @ £220.

Can anyone explain the difference please? £145 is a huge gap between the two prices.

Hope you can help.

I'm guessing that this is an AC garage with a Ford franchise (quite rare for AC). As its 4 years old and well out of warranty, go to a local, small, recommended, independent. You'll build up a relationship, you'll get your car properly serviced and your car wont simply be a place to sit in and have lunch while the apprentice changes the oil.

Yes. They can. Why not ask them?

@ LandyAndy - I will indeed ask them, however I am hoping that someone on this board will be able to give me more information and details on the differences between the 2 services on offer. After all the more information I have then the better I can make an informed decision.

@ Colino - I've been going to this garage since I bought the car and always found them to be very well priced and helpfull. Also they are close by and open on a Saturday.

AC will be able to give you a definitive answer over anyone here, and you would have had your answer by now.
