Garden Fencing - prices?

Hello,

We need to replace a garden fence between us and our neighbours, which goes up between the drives.

Both happy to pay half, so no issues there.

Anyone any idea of the prices? I've got quotes between £400 and £1000 for this.

As next door need to get in and out of his van, I'm happy for it not to go all the way up the path, people have to work, so it'd be about 10 metres long, and would need concrete posts, as it's windy down there.
6 foot is high enough, and I'd like a more heavy duty panel, to put up with the footballs hitting it when the lawn is wet!

As their drive is slightly higher, it'd need concrete slabs underneath it.

There's currently an old broken fence there, which just has wooden posts screwed in, so the new posts would have to be dug in and concreted.

Any ideas on what prices should be, for a full installation?

expect to pay between 35/70 quid per metre run, for standard fencing. supply and fit.
    depends where you live.

The fence is not jointly owned, so why are you going halves? It is the property of one or other of you.

because it make sense for good neighbour relations.
ive done it in the past with good neighbours, i dont have any problem with it. we both benefit from a nice new fence.

the legal issue only becomes a problem with obnoxious neighbours.

About four years ago I paid £60 per panel (1.8m) + about £35 for final post. This was a local independent guy and was for good quality 6ft high ready treated heavy duty closeboard panels. I guess prices will have risen a bit since, any clearance will be extra on top, which I didn't need as I'd already done that on my garden.

    Cheers all.

Yep I think it's best to just go halfs with the neighbours with things like this, especially when something is knackered. If it's not yours you have the issues with asking them to replace it. They don't have to, so then you end up putting your own up on your side.

Have a nice, friendly life with your neighbours, and keeping your place looking well kept far outweighs the benefits of saving a few quid.

I have been looking at fencing recently for DIY purposes - this site seems to have good quality stuff at good prices - http://www.buyfencingdirect.co.uk/

Cheers, it does seem pretty good.

I would stick panels in myself, or posts into soil, but I'm a bit bothered about getting concrete posts into the drive, which is why I'd like to get it done by someone.
