Norton firewall popup

When my laptop boots up I now get a red windows security cenrte popup saying that my computer is at risk because norton firewall worm protection is switched off....
I don't use norton so I used the remove norton tool and it went away, now the popup says windows firewall disabled, but when I open the security centre it says its on?
It never used to do this and it takes an age to boot....any help or thoughts?

I can't see any norton products listen on the hijackthis log. Although I may have missed it. I would update definitions in malwarebytes and run a full scan. Remove everything found and post log here.
You can also uninstall: ad-aware from the control panel.0 -
adaware+defender+spybot+superantispyware don't help speed.

did you not remove it?
c:\system volume information\_restore{a5f779f7-f7a5-44a5-88cc-084c6bb92f78}\RP597\A0097756.exe (PUP.WirelessKeyView) -> Not selected for removal.:idea:0 -
If that's nirsoft wirelesskeyview, it's harmless (and in system restore area anyway), hence the pup designation.

Hmm - try a full scan again and remove it again.
Although you may be telling the truth as I've seen this happen recently on these boards - infection found and was allegedly removed but not removed according to logs. But the infection couldn't be found again on a full scan. Any ideas (alienRIK et al.)?0 -
