Hello to you all,
I was wondering if it is possible to freeze a credit card with a positive balance so no more can be spent on it until the balance is paid off?
I am aware that when the credit card company raises your interest rate you have the right to reject it and pay off the credit card at the existing interest rate until the balance is paid in full but I was wondering if it is possible to request this facility from your credit card company even if your interest rate hasn't been raised?
Many thanks for your thoughts on this.

Yes, Request it is closed.
Although it won't be properly closed until you have repaid the balance. But you won't have rate increases in the meantime.0 -

Many thanks for your post zx,
The reason I asked on here is because I spoke to Barclaycard about this but they didn't have a clue about what I was requesting so I hung up.
But, I will call them back later today and try again.
Many thanks,
