Got our renewal notice from Direct Line for combined contents and buildings insurance - a massive £616.90:eek:
Went through Martin's link Insuresupermarket...decided not to go with accidental this time and got quoted £291 with Budget a massive £325 difference AND the policy included Home Emergency Call Out.
FANTASTIC!

Well Done :T I managed to talk my mother into switching contents for the first time (she was on an obsolete policy with only £18k worth of cover charging her over £200) and saved her nearly £100 on contents alone so it's always worth scouting about!!!:hello: :hello: :hello:0

I used to work for direct line and even with staff discount i still got cheaper insurance through more than by over £1500

Exchanging (hopefully) on my first home today so I've taken out house/building insurance for the first time... used confused.com to find some great quotes. Ended up taking 2nd cheapest (elephant was first) with Zurich and grabbed 80 quid of cashback with quidco.. taking my costs down to 200 quid for the year
Rather cheap I think.

We've just renewed ours with Cornhill Direct, since they gave us the best quote for 4 years no-claims... their discount saved us nearly 200 quid on home + contents0

I have just changed from Saga to RIAS (for over 50yr olds) and saved myself almost £100 for the same cover. Chappie0
