Car leasing

This might be a bit of an odd question for the forum but I have found loads of good info here in the past on obscure subjects from you guys/girls who are the real been there done that crowd.

I have a small limited company just one year old this month which buys old unloved, run down properties and renovates them to either let out or sell on, its not made or lost any money as yet but needs to expand past my local area which I have operated in for the last year. At the moment after dropping of tools etc. I walk to the job site as it's very local, everything else is delivered.

I don't want a van as its more than I need.

We have an old(ish) 04 plate Honda civic that I will use for transport for me and tools, with back seats down it quite spacious but I need to provide a replacement car of similar type or better yet a people carrier

I don't want to buy a new car, but lease one through the LTD. company to replace the family car I now need to move the business forward.

Does anyone have a recommendation. I did the usual google search but there are lots of companies out there and I don’t know much about this.

Any help or advise is much appreciated

James

I think you might struggle via the company route (lack of trading history, no profits). Why not try leasing in a personal capacity?

Or even better wait a year or so until the company can afford this expense.

You could talk to Ling, the self-styled mad Chinese woman:

    http://www.lingscars.com/

You will see from her website she has a certain trading, er, style.

I've not used her, but she does get many good reviews.

    Thanks Hintza,
I am now trading for one year, (as of this month) and I have made a little profit but its all re-invested sorry if the
“its not made or lost any money as yet “
was a bit misleading . The company has money in the bank and a steady rental income so it can afford the expense (assuming I don't go nuts and lease a sports car)
That said I appreciate your input and as for the lack of trading history you may be correct as that might be a stumbling block I had not considered. The leasing in a personal capacity means it not a company expense but as Spiro suggested I will talk to my accountant.

    Thanks again James
  • Thanks NeverAgain
I remember her from Dragons Den (something about a double decker bus if I remember correctly)
I will look into her website Great pointer thanks, I might have missed this as it did not come up in my google search (not near the top anyway)

    Cheers

What ever you do get everyting in writing. I was sloppy the last time and was told on phone VED was included when it wasn't and at £425/annum it stung a bit. Still so cross with myself and that was three years ago.
