I recently decided not to renew my policy with CPP. Imagine my frustration when they they were unable to take the premium from one card that I had previously used as it had expired...but promptly used a card that is stored on file for them to protect!
Is this common practise amongst these companies?
I have asked for a refund - but they have failed to return calls despite promising to do so.

Did you tell them you wanted to cancel?
If not, then what does it say about taking payment in the terms and conditions you agreed to?My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.

FWIW - A quick look at the Terms and Conditions shows:We will collect the payment from the card or account that the main policyholder has identified as the paycard or paying account. Following a loss report, or if a payment is rejected from your paycard, payments will be collected from any other card you have registered on your policy.
My guess is that you didn't tell them you wanted to cancel.

And here's information on the cooling off period. If it's not too late, you can still get a refund.Cooling-off periods
Remember that you have a right to cancel your contracts. If you decide to cancel within 21 days of your start date or 14 days of your renewal date, please call CPP on the telephone number in your welcome pack or write to CPP at the address below. Your contracts will be cancelled immediately and any payment you have made refunded. Please note that if you choose to cancel your contracts outside of the cooling off periods shown above, you will not be entitled to a refund. My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
