Cambelt Quote for Renault Scenic

My 6 year old car is due a new cambelt - I have been quoted £480 for cambelt + water pump + coolant + brake fluid including VAT - is this a good price?

    It is reasonable though I should knock off the brake fluid as it has nothing to do with the cambelt; waste of time changing it imho

    I'd haggle. I work at a VW Dealership and we offer cambelts for £299, all genuine parts inluded (barring the expensive V6's!), but you should be able to get a better deal than than, even if it is dealer prices.

    where is the quote from ? dealer/ independant/ mobile mechanic ?
    petrol or diesel ?
    does not sound too bad to me , but make sure that is for a timing belt kit (includes belt tensioner and idler) and the accessory belt kit , (belt and tensioner) this is important to change as well .
