Hi, i know theyre stopping the baby element of tax credits but just wondered if anyone knows whether theyll stop it for people who are in the 12 months of receiving it, or is it just stopping for babys born after april? I had my twins in November last year, and currently get one baby element, will this stop in april, or will i still get it til theyre one?

where did you read or hear it will stop?
I spoke to someone from the job centre (friend) & shes says it will continue for those getting it already for the 1st 12 months as they cannot just take it back if you are already recieving it?Mummy to 4 gorgeous children

Hia yes i know it was mentioned but like the health in pregnancy grant you could still claim it if you were 25 weeks pregnant before or on 1st April after this date you cant,so some women can claim and others not,i was told if your already claiming baby element then you will continue to get it till you baby is 1,if however your baby is born after April you wont get it,obviously wrong advise, been looking online for the answer in black and white but cant find it that why i asked,Thanks for your help:)Mummy to 4 gorgeous children

Tax Credits are calculated annually from 6th April. You will stop receiving the baby element from 6th April.0
