Get onto the store manager where you ordered the kitchen - ask to speak or see him personally and give him the list of everything that went wrong as you have detailed above - in writing if necessary - saying what a bad service you have been given. Outline any expenses its cost you - phone calls, petrol for repeated store visits etc.
Say you feel you are entitled to recompense for the costs you've incurred and then some compensation for all the hassle - have a figure in mind - see what they offer there and then - try to haggle. You can accept it there and they will refund you to your card you ordered with. If this is not acceptable they will say you need to put it writing to head office - but this can take time and more effort.
I went with the refund to card offer when we had problems and held out for £100 compensation (plus costs incurred). Might have helped that it was busy and other people were having designs done and he was starting to get a bit nervous as people were listening to what was going on.
Hope it all goes well.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Thanks for all your advice, the dishwasher they delivered has now broken down, the first time I used it! Incidentally, I recently heard from my parents, that a neighbour bought a kitchen from B&Q. She'd arranged to have it delivered in february this year, after ordering it last november. When she later called to confirm this, B&Q told her the kitchen could not be delivered until march. In march, only half the kitchen turned up. She cancelled the order there and then and insisted the delivery drivers took it with them. After writing to B&Q to complain, they offered her a £25 voucher for the inconvenience. She told them where to go and that she would be contacting her solicitor, whereupon they changed their offer to about £500. Not bad considering she didn't have to even buy the kitchen from them in the end.0
