Children interviewed by social workers

Looking for some advice. I'm posting under a different user name and not a troll.
Friends children were interviewed by Social services today, parents told not to collect them from school and they were delivered back home to the parents later on.
Parents due to be interviewed tomorrow.
Parents have no idea what this is over though it is not of a sexual nature.
Really looking for advice from anyone who knows what might be going on, also friend has asked me to be present at the interview as I know the children but I'm not a family member.
Searching the internet frantically for any advice I can get.
Thank you.
Just to add. Police were present at interview - is this normal procedure?
Think one of the children may have said something to trigger this action

What advice do you expect?Nobody knows what's happened.
There has clearly been some concern/problem/issue somewhere either to do with the parents or to do with something else.Nobody will know until tomorrow.
There's no advice you can really get and there's nothing you can do.
they'll see the social worker tomorrow and find out what it's about then although I don't see why they want you present?
Edit: As you've said the police were there then maybe, but you can't really tell much from that anyway. There's nothing you can do right nowIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
There are suspicions or allegations have been made. It could have been something one of the children has said quite innocently which may have been misinterpreted or misunderstood.
It's all conjecture and we could drive ourselves mad trying to figure it out. But we can't. None of us has enough information.
As the children have been delivered back to the parents I would infer from this that the parents are probably not themselves under suspicion of anything. Or that the children aren't considered to be in imminent danger.0 -
Thank you both of you. Trying to help parents and never been/known anyone in this situation.
Parents want me present at their interview but not sure if that's possible or not.0 -

exactly my thoughts.
It must be an awful thing to have to go through.
Hope everything turns out alright.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I have to disagree, surely if it was not to do with the parents they would have been informed of the issue and been able to accompany their children during any interview. But I hope I am wrong.0

I'm afraid you won't find out til tomorrow so just try and keep calm.
Its likely that something was said to a member of staff at school that has raised a concern about the children's welfare - this could be an allegation against a parent but not neccesarily, either made by the children or someone else. From my limited experience (professional not personal) they do return children to the family home even if the allegation has been against the parent/ something has happened in the family home, except if there is believed to be immediate danger to the children.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

There is a social worker on here, if you look on the mooloo board, her name is Gizmo. x0

if parents are to be interviewed tomorrow then advise them to get a solicitor! ASAP - and to ask for one specialising in 'family' law. I suspect this is about abuse and whether your friends are innocent or not - they need legal representation now.
your friends may think they have done nothing wrong, so dont need legal advice. they are wrong! if matters have gone this far, that they are being formally interviewed, then they DO need legal representation - they are one step away from the child being taken from them. their fight begins here.0 -

Yes, if a disclosure or allegation is serious enough.
I should await developments tomorrow and see what transpires.
You may not be able to be present during the interview as it may contain third party info and/or confidential info that you should not be party to.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Nothing to add from bitter and twisted...that is really pretty much spot on. It could bestill to do with parents but unlikely as children were allowed back. Possibly more with people coming to family or being close family? Once it was clear that the person wont have contact until tomorrow, children would be returned until tomorrow...dont question children as this is not really fair on them...
Coming in with laywers may be a bit heavy handed...wait til tomorrow. If a removal or anything more severe would be planned, your friends would be told.
Try and dont panick too much would be my advice...could be allegations about friends and police is worried you would warn them??
Sorry, only all speculations really....
A very worrying time ...:(You have the right to remain silent.Anything you do say will be misquoted and then used against you
