I got the youngest a replacement PSU for his HP machine (G62) from Amazon for £13 all in.
Yes it is a cheap chinese copy as opposed to genuine HP, but it works as I would expect (if anything, it runs cooler than the original) and I never took it up the backside to the tune of £50 from Compaq/HP for a so called "genuine" item which will no doubt break very shortly due to the incredibly poor design.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

I too purchase a replacement power pack... lasted 2 months so now looking for a real hp one but very expensive espically if i have to buy from pc world instead of hp...and it may not solve my problem, it could be deeper issues.0
