Most water companies provide this I believe
  • I know metered water costs about £1 per cubic metre, so I was wondering what is free but saves "up to" 100,000 litres a year?
I haven't even bothered to go to the link.
  • metered water in Devon and Cornwall cost us £1.68 a meterd cubed but dont forget you get charged another £2.68 a meter cubed for the sewerage charges. When it is hot water that is saved if you heat it with electric you save about £3.50 on top of that and with gas about £6.50 so you could soon get to about £100 saving over a year when you add it up.

Blimey, that's rude!...especially considering the OP is new to MSE...what a welcome!

Someone has gone to the trouble of posting an offer. If you're not interested then why not just ignore it and move on to the next? If you really must point out duplicate threads then at least do it politely and in the spirit of MSE.

Funkydoughnut, thanks for posting! :) I've already got a couple of the items (courtesy of MSE) but some of the bits I definitely haven't seen before.

So, heating water by gas costs nearly double that of electricity?

Our house is one of the only houses in the UK not to be on the national water grid, instead it is provided by the MOD so we can't get any of these things (or ever change provider to save money). Plus the water isn't nice, it's very hard and comes out of the tap very cloudy plus it doesn't taste very nice.

No domestic user can change water supplier in the UK. It's been on the cards for a while now, but it's always "five years away".
