:mad:hi all,
im just about to buy a sofa but im confused as to where the measurements are taken from.
eg the width is advertised as 210cm
is this the edge of arm to edge of arm.
the reason im so bothered is because i only have 211cm from skirting to skirting so its going to be tight

You need to go to the shop and measure it yourself.
If that is not possible, mail order say, then with such a tight tolerance you need to ask the seller to confirm in writing those measurements that are important before you buy.
I know distance selling regulations may help, but it is difficult, and maybe expensive, to return a sofa that doesn't fit.0 -
it should be the maximum length x height x depth.
check with the seller first, if the size is critical.Get some gorm.0 -
I'm waiting for a couple of sofas to arrive -eek . I had some massive door cardboard packaging in my garage and I cut a base template out to place on the floor to get a (hopefully) precise imprint . Make a template (newspaper if you don't have cardboard) and try to set your mind at ease.
I'm hoping mine are extremety arm curve to arm curve, <----> , but I will check the measurements are correct on delivery and then refuse to accept if not as described.0 -
its from dfs, im going to phone tomorrow and i'll ask.
there isnt a store near me so im going to have to just order it.
ps dont use www.sofasworld.co.uk ive waited 9 weeks and then they phoned me and said its going to be another 5, it was advertised as 2-3 weeks delivery !0 -
they all do that.
generally you will wait 12 weeks for a sofa, to be made to order.
any sooner is a bonus.Get some gorm.0 -
We have just ordered from Next, and their sofas on website say one length, and then when we measured it said another, the assistant told us it was all wrong and best to measure your self. But I beleive that the measurements are taken from the longest points, so if the arms come out longer thats where the measurement is taken from, not the feet, where there could be a good 20cm narrower. If this makes sence??0
