DVD recordable multi region player

Does anyone know any shops where I can buy a DVD recordable multi region DVD player. I am based in UK London. I would rather not buy on line but rather to to the shop.
We currently have a DVD recordable player DMREZ25 and the drive that plays the disks keeps coughing or not spinning properly, some times it will take 20mins having to put disk in and out before the thing will even play it. its not the disks, cause it does that with every single disk now.
I assume it would cost to much to get repaired as alas opposed to just getting a new one which may be cheaper, but I could be wrong.

I made my excellent Sony RDR-HXD870 HDD/DVD recorder region-free just before Christmas using the handset hack I found in AV Forums HERE. Worked a treat.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
