WTC & CTC personal injury claim

Hi there, I've been requested to send additional information in for my application. It's been 5 weeks waiting for this letter requesting more info. I have to show backdated bank statements and 1 statement shows a payment my wife got for a personal injury claim. The payment was processed online by a cheque processing company as it was from out of country and then the money deposited into our account. We have no paperwork to show what this transaction is.
Will they want us to explain what this is on the bank statement and how do we prove it as it was a cheque sent from a law firm from out of country. Getting paperwork from the law firm would take a long time and probably cost money which aren't great options at the moment. I know insurance claims don't count to earnings but it's just proving that part.
Any suggestions or does it matter?
Thanks

Hi, yes WTC and CTC. I made my initial application in December and after a month called them to find out what the status was. They gave me a phone number for another area and told me that it has been referred to another unit. After calling the new unit a few times they said they are sending a letter out with a request for more information on work, proof of child, medical cards and all bank statements from every account for the period the claim is valid from ie 3 months before I called the helpline for the application form.
