E.on Save Online 4 - prices going up AGAIN

It seems that every time I change onto the best e.on tariff, a couple of months down the line, I get a letter to say that the price is going up.

Now, Save Online 4 in being hiked up on 4th February, with gas kWh at:

First Unit: 6.08 inc VAT up to 2680
Next unit: 2.68 inc VAT

And electric kWh:

First unit:18.79 inc VAT up to 900
Next unit: 10.12 inc VAT

Does anyone know if there's something out there any better? I just called e.on and they have said that it 'might' be better to go onto Save Online 5, but even that is getting more expensive than I can really afford :-((((((

As far as I'm aware Saveonline 4 has not had any other increases apart from the one that most customers are having on the 4th Feb?

Hi echoecho,

That's correct SaveOnline 4 hasn't had a price increase, as you say this will increase on 4 February as it's not a fixed tariff.

DemiDee, ask E.ON to do a comparison for SaveOnline 4 and 5 to see if it will save you, also pop your details in to a comparison site using your usage in kWh you can get this from E.ON as well.

Hi all, I didn't suggest that Save Online 4 has had a price hike in the past - just that each time I change onto a tariff, a couple of months down the line, I'm notified of a price increase. I will try the comparison sites. Just wish that the whole process was simpler for those who cannot always find time to keep switching. Surely a blanket price across the board would bring down prices for most people, especially those who don't have the time to keep searching for the best rate?
